Description Alexander van Loon 2008-03-21 22:51:20 UTC
Currently when you use the vertical view in Evolution, the text contained in the line displaying the author of the message in the messages column is displayed in a variable-width font.
The subject line below the line displaying the author of the message contains text which is displayed in a fixed-width font. This looks very odd, and I see no reason why it should use a fixed width font, it looks so out of place when it is surrounded by variable width fonts.
Could the text in the subject line please be changed to use a variable width font?

Confirming. That /does/ look odd. And, from a practical standpoint, you can't see as much of the subject as you would with a variable-width font.

Srini, do you know why this was done this way, and can we change it?

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade.

*sigh* The solution for this one makes me a bit sad.
Comment 4 Alexander van Loon 2008-03-23 09:26:11 UTC
Sorry for filing a duplicate, apparantly my search terms hadn't revealed the existing bug.

The solution isn't ideal, people with an existing configuration have to change the GConf key for the fix to take effect, but as long as a new installation contains the fix I'm happy.
