Description Sitsofe Wheeler 2008-02-29 07:10:26 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Printing a particular PDF produces an abnormally large job that a postscript printer struggles to digest.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Download http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11756214/coqspi-sn.pdf .
2. Open the downloaded file with evince.
2. Go to File -> Print...
3. Select a printer and go to Print.

Actual results:
A 26 Megabyte print job is generated that the printer has to think about for a long time.

Expected results:
A smaller print job that is faster for the printer to digest to be produced.

Does this happen every time?
Yes, this happens every time.

Other information:
KPDF and Adobe Reader 7 produce print jobs that are smaller and finish faster.

Version information:
Ubuntu Gutsy
evince 2.20.1-0ubuntu1

Might be a dup of Bug #486740 ...
Comment 2 Carlos Garcia Campos 2008-02-29 08:37:48 UTC
It's a known poppler/cairo problem:
