Description Phil Cowans 2008-02-28 19:05:39 UTC
In direct mode, Dasher does not have an internal buffer but instead writes directly to other apps via the AT libraries.

The UI for this mode of operation needs a lot of work - eg.

* Strip unnecesary UI elements
* make canvas size smaller
* Make window alway on top
* Make window sticky on multiple desktops
* Dock to the corner of the screen
* Make it easy to hide / show the window when not needed (for example by detecting whether the focus element can accept text).
* etc...

Reversed the excessive stripping of necessary UI elements - you ended up having to quit direct mode dasher, start traditional mode, change alphabet, quit traditional mode, start with command line switch for direct mode, just to change the alphabet. Essentially dasher direct mode dasher became unusable. It is happier now.
