GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 519333
GOPA Short Term Task: Identify/Create 10 accessibility icon groups
Last modified: 2018-08-17 19:44:44 UTC
This is 1 of 5 similar short term tasks for GNOME Outreach Program: Accessibility. See bug 519313 for more information on the short term tasks. You need to complete 5 short term tasks in order to be eligible for prize money. The task is to work with the gnome-theme community to identify and create 10 icon groups for accessibilty. A single icon group consists of creating high contrast, high contrast inverse, and large print icon versions of a 'normal' icon. See http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gup/hig/hig-diff/icons-design-accessible.html for more information on designing accessible icons.
Hey, so I'm gonna do another 10 icons, the following: * actions o edit-select-all o insert-image o insert-link o mail-send o mail-send-receive * apps o internet-web-browser o system-software-update * categories o applications-engineering * devices o modem o network-wireless
Pointing that: 1) this task was never claimed in a proper way 2) even so, it's a short term tast, should be completed in 2 week 3) Kevin added previous comment on May 2008 and today is Decembre 2008 4) tomorrow is the last day to claim a task considering this taks still open or at least reopened...
I claim this Task
The icons I'm going to draw are: status/media-playlist-repeat status/media-playlist-shuffle status/battery-caution status/battery-low devices/network-wireless emblems/emblem-unreadable mimetypes/x-office-calendar mimetypes/x-office-document mimetypes/x-office-presentation actions/mail-send-receive
Sorry Kevin, but tomorrow is the last day.... :)
Progress update: media-playlist-repeat is available in bug #564663 and I'm working on media-playlist-shuffle (some little touchup still needed)
Progress update: catched bad flu :-( I was only able to finish media-playlist-shuffle, available in separate bug #565243
BTW it seems that battery-low and battery-caution was already provided by Vinicius Depizzol (see GOPA task related to bug #519335). So I've to choose two now icons to draw....
Progress updates: * network-wireless done, available on bug #565704 * x-office-presentation done, available on bug #565705
New icon available, mail-send-receive, filed on separate bug #565788
New icon available, x-office-calendar, filed on separate bug #565794
New icon available, x-office-document, filed on separate bug #565800
New icon available, emblem-unreadable, filed on separate bug #565854
Last 2 icons to draw (see comment 8): - mimetypes/text-x-generic-template - mimetypes/x-office-address-book Reason: those are the missing icons to complete the MimeTypes category.
New icon available, x-office-address-book, filed on separate bug #565870
New icon available, text-x-generic-template, filed on separate bug #565878

Its codebase has been archived: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/gnome-themes/commits/master Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
