Description Robert Ochshorn 2008-02-25 19:58:12 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Tracking through an OGG Theora/Vorbis video generated by the OLPC causes an Internal data stream error:

gstoggdemux.c(3096): gst_ogg_demux_loop (): /project-New Project/timeline-New Project/composition-videocomp/source-file:///home/robert/src/olpc/theora/peter.ogg-video1/pitivi+elements+singledecodebin+singledecodebin0/oggdemux7:
stream stopped, reason not-negotiated

In the terminal, we also get this:

(pitivi:9150): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_segment_set_seek: assertion `start <= stop' failed

Steps to reproduce:
1. Download the sample video file from http://boringclothes.com/~robert/peter.ogg
2. Insert into PiTiVi and place on Timeline
3. In the Advanced View, jogging through the timeline brings up this error. Sometimes, clicking "OK" doesn't even help, as the error shows up instantly and PiTiVi needs to be killed.

Actual results:
Error message appears; sometimes it is impossible to get out of the error

Expected results:
Video at the appropriate frame to show up

Does this happen every time?
Not at every seek, but every time I've jogged through the clip a few times.

Other information:
PiTiVi from source, GStreamer 0.10.14-1ubuntu3 and gnonlin 0.10.9-1 from Ubuntu Gutsy package

Can you try the latest pitivi pre-release (0.11.1.2) to see if it fixes your issues ?

Also.. There's been a lot of improvements in recent gstreamer and gst-plugins-base which might be related to that.

On all latest gstreamer and pitivi this works like a charm.

Edward Harvey, I compiled in my Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) pitivi 0.11.2 but the issue is still present. I also tried to recompile 0.11.3 but it requires newer packages than the ones available in Hardy Heron so I couldn't test it.

Thanks for reporting this bug, but the version of PiTiVi you filed this bug against is no longer supported.

Please try again against a 0.13.x version of PiTiVi, and if the problem persists re-open this bug.

With PiTiVi v.0.11.3 the issue is not present anymore. Jogging through the timeline (after having imported the ogg video into pitivi and placed it just into the timeline) brings no errors (in this pitivi version there is no Advanced View option)
