Description Jacob Peddicord 2008-02-22 23:21:51 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When setting the option for a keyboard LED to show that an alternate layout is in effect, it appears to save. However, it does nothing when tried.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Run gnome-keyboard-properties, Layouts tab, Layout options.
2. Select any option for "Use keyboard LED to show alternative layout"
3. Set an option for "Layout Switching"
4. Close the dialog, and try typing in the box.

Actual results:
The layout is changed to the alternate, but no keyboard LEDs light up.

Expected results:
The layout would change and the appropriate LED should light up.

Does this happen every time?
From what I have tested, it appears to be reproducible.

Other information:
This is supposedly a regression from GNOME 2.20:

It is a well-known problem with the latest xorg.
