GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 516898
'£' symbol in REFNUM field in OFX file causes data loss when imported
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:01:13 UTC
Please describe the problem: I imported an OFX file containing the following transaction in my credit card history. I saved my file. I closed gnucash. I launch gnucash. => all the datas are corrupted, many lines are losts. <STMTTRN> <TRNTYPE>POS <DTPOSTED>20080117 <DTUSER>20080117 <TRNAMT>-30.69 <FITID>LFXQ8DU2LF <REFNUM>PROVIGO £8341 CA MONTREAL <NAME>PROVIGO £8341 CA MONTREAL </STMTTRN> Steps to reproduce: 1. insert '£' in REFNUM and NAME field in a credit card transaction history 2. import the OFX file and the transaction containing the '£' character 3. save and exit gnucash 4. launch gnucash 5. look at your datas Actual results: Some datas are losts. Expected results: Does this happen every time? yes Other information: I tried to remove the '£' symbol before importing the OFX file and there was no problem.
Is this a duplicate of bug 505386? Please try out GnuCash 2.2.3, as it contains a fix for that one.
Yes, this is the same bug. My apologies for this duplicate bug entry. I actually use Ubuntu 7.10 gutsy which repository still contains gnucash 2.2.1.
Marking as such then. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 505386 ***
