GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 515666
Internal hyper-links do not update when cells are moved or added
Last modified: 2018-05-22 13:25:27 UTC
Please describe the problem: successfully inerted many internal hyperlinks within the spreadsheet. when i add ne cells or rows or columns, the links do not update... they point to the wrong cells (not recognizing that cells have been moved as new ones were added) Steps to reproduce: 1. insert a link to an internal cell on another sheet in workbook 2. move the cell that the link points to 3. link will not point to correct cell any more Actual results: link goes to wrong cell Expected results: link should go to wherever the linked cell moved to Does this happen every time? yes Other information:
This works fine for me. Please refine the steps into very simple steps like "Enter =Sheet2!A1" into cell Sheet1!A1" so I can try to reproduce the way you do it. Also, what version of Gnumeric are you using?
thank you for an incredibly fast response. 1. type in "Dave" on sheet 1, cell J6 2. right mouse click and insert an internal hyperlink (using the dialog box) from that cell to sheet 2 cell C24 that has the text "David M." in it. 3. click sheet 1 cell J6 and it will correctly send you to sheet 2 cell C24. 4. add a row on sheet 2, so your cell now moves to C25. 3. click sheet 1 cell J6 and it will incorrectly send you to sheet 2 cell C24 (which has been moved to C25). I have tried this on 2 computers (ubuntu on both) and it fails on both of them every time. I am using gnumeric 1.7.8 on this computer and the other has 1.7.?. This error repeats every time and applies to every cell I try to change (not just the ones I mention above). I can find no "preference" option that turns "update links" on or off ..... don't know what to do.... I need to move a lot of cells around ! Thanks again for your help. Dave Leo
