Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused it. Can you get us a stack trace? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance! Please also state the exact versions of gnome-control-center, gstreamer, and gst-plugins-base used.
Sorry for my bad english. :) I did not know that bug depends on the gstreamer. And therefore I did not say that i recently updated a gstreamer and gst-plugins-base package; So this is info that you need: gnome-control-center: 2.20.3 gstreamer: 0.10.16 gst-plugins-base: 0.10.16 About traces: I'm try to make a backtrace and i get this: --------------------------------------------- (no debugging symbols found) [New Thread 0xb52ffb90 (LWP 4818)] (gnome-settings-daemon:4810): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: specified class size for type `GstAlsaMixerTrack' is smaller than the parent type's `GstMixerTrack' class size (gnome-settings-daemon:4810): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_new: assertion `G_TYPE_IS_OBJECT (object_type)' failed Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. [Switching to Thread 0xb5fe06e0 (LWP 4810)] 0xb5307d89 in ?? () from /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstalsa.so --------------------------------------------- So, i think the temporary solution will be a downgrade to an earlier version of gstreamer. And so, the problem is not in gnome-settings-daemon, but in gstreamer;
gstreamer 0.10.16 has a few known problems. You might want to try upgrading to 0.10.17 instead which was released today. Let us know how it goes.
I use Gentoo, and so I have to wait fot ebuilds in portage for gstreamer-0.10.17 because i can't write it myself. :( But i downgrade gstreamer to 0.10.15 and all worked perfectly. Once a new version of gstreamer appear in portage I immediately communicate - whether it solves the problem. Thank you for helping!
