GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 512412
20 wakeups/second when idle
Last modified: 2008-01-27 22:10:25 UTC
RB causes 20 CPU wakeups per second when idle, and also when playing media. What's that timer used for? Can we reduce that a bit? We really don't want to waste power.
Created attachment 103829 [details] screenshot depicting wakeup culprits screenshot shows powertop, depicting processes causing CPU wakeups. RB wakes up 20 times a second from do_nanosleep()
This is probably rhythmbox waking up your sound card.
