Description eric 2008-01-24 04:23:35 UTC
When I start XChat-GNOME IRC Chat and join a server the program seems okay. This is far as I can go. If I attempt to join a room or click on anything other than the menu bar the program will freeze and then will crash.

The latest crash generated this report: http://crash.gnome.org/report/index/eb330f82-ca29-11dc-a2ae-0007e9333148?date=2008-01-24-03

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused it.
Can you get us a stack trace? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance!

Hello

  I was unable to crash xchat-gnome with the steps provided. Would it be possible for you to provide step-by-step detailed information on the same.

I am using
 xchat-gnome-0.18-5.fc8
 gtk2-2.12.5-1.fc8
Comment 4 eric 2008-01-30 22:54:39 UTC
Not sure I can go into more detail. After I log into a server I cannot join a room (via the popup or via the command line) nor can I click anything other than the menu without the program crashing.
Comment 5 Ritesh Khadgaray ( irc:ritz) 2008-02-02 10:26:33 UTC
not too sure, does removing the .xchat-gnome folder help ?

  $ mv .xchat-gnome xchat-gnome.backup
  $ xchat-gnome
Comment 6 eric 2008-02-07 23:17:59 UTC
Yes it does solve the problem!
Comment 7 Ritesh Khadgaray ( irc:ritz) 2008-02-08 03:45:22 UTC
how was the configuration file generated ?
Comment 8 eric 2008-02-08 13:44:44 UTC
I didn't change anything from when it was installed. Using Fedora 8 and used YUM to install.
Comment 9 Ritesh Khadgaray ( irc:ritz) 2008-02-08 14:06:54 UTC
Would it be possible for you to attach xchat-gnome configuration file. Something odd about it

        autojoin = (gchar **) 0x91fd658
        channels = (gchar **) 0x0 <--- looks funny
        found = <value optimized out>

Comment 11 Ritesh Khadgaray ( irc:ritz) 2009-03-30 20:17:31 UTC
I am unable to reproduce this with the latest version of xchat-gnome. Would you please confirm the same ?
Comment 12 eric 2009-03-31 19:45:29 UTC
Yeah, all seems well, now. I had forgotten about this ticket!
