GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 51165
GNOME panel crashes on login
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: gnome-core Severity: normal Version: 1.3.0 Synopsis: GNOME panel crashes on login Bugzilla-Product: gnome-core Bugzilla-Component: panel Description: (This is what happened - but not how to reproduce it every time.) I upgraded from Helix GNOME 1.2 to 1.4beta1. The first time I logged in it took ages to start the window manager (at the splash screen) but no WM was actually loaded when the desktop appeared. I got to the Control Centre and it claimed I was running Enlightenment - I chose icewm, which worked. The second time I tried to log in the desktop appeared a bit faster but the Panel immediately gave a fatal error. Debugging Information: (no debugging symbols found)...0x405cb8c9 in __wait4 () from /lib/libc.so.6
