GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 507673
limitless grow of the .recently-used.xbel file slows down applications
Last modified: 2008-01-06 20:26:49 UTC
Some day ago I noticed a slow down of some applications, such as gedit and file-roller, during the start up time or after their windows got focused. After deleting the .recently-used.xbel file, which was 3.4 MB, the same applications start up much faster, so I think we should avoid to let that file to grow with no limit.
dupe of 488507, which already contains my comments about it and a plausible way to fix it in the desktop and not in gtk+. I like the description, though, so I'll change bug 488507 :-) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 488507 ***
