GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 507548
Please comment some more strings for translators
Last modified: 2009-08-12 13:35:43 UTC
I'm reviewing and updating a translation of gnome-panel, and struggling with some translations for which the parameters are not explained. Thank you for the many comments that are already given. Many strings use %A, %b, or %B, etc. and I'm not sure what these refer to. #: ../applets/clock/calendar-window.c:226 ../applets/clock/clock.c:347 msgid "%l:%M %p" msgstr "%l:%M %p" #: ../applets/clock/calendar-window.c:228 ../applets/clock/clock.c:349 #: ../applets/clock/clock.c:1256 msgid "%H:%M" msgstr "%H:%M" I assume these two (^) refer to some time formatting function which might be documented somewhere. #. Translators: If the event did not start on the current day #. * we will display the start date in the most abbreviated way #. * possible. #: ../applets/clock/calendar-window.c:234 msgid "%b %d" msgstr "" I'm affraid I'm not sure what event is referred to here or how that influences the translation or what %b or %d is. #: ../applets/clock/clock.schemas.in.h:12 A list of timezone IDs. Each ID identifies an individual timezone. The settings of these timezones are stored in the $(id)_name and $(id)_zone keys. I guess that ..._name and ..._zone are something like configuration keys that should not be translated. Please confirm with a comment in the file. Where do these strings appear? Thanks for any help you can provide.
Sorry it took so long, but should be fixed now.
