I often listen to webradio, and from time to time, I wish i could record the current streaming, so I can listen to it later ( like when I see there is a emission on pingouins, but I do not have time to setup vlc or mplayer to dump the stream ). 
 
So a record plugin, adding a record button to the ui would be great. You activate record, it start recording whatever rhytmbox play, and dump it to the disk, either compressed or not.
