GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 502940
Drag & Drop to apps in notification area doesn't work
Last modified: 2020-11-06 20:23:52 UTC
Please describe the problem: Dragging files to apps in notification area doesn't work. For example, I am able to drag a file to Rhythmbox or Amarok icon minimized in the KDE tray, but this doesn't work in Gnome notification area. Instead the "Create Launcher" dialog appears, as if I just dragged the file to an empty area on the panel. I remember this was working some time ago, but I'm not sure about the Gnome version. I guess it was probably 2.14 or 2.16. Steps to reproduce: 1. Minimize Amarok/Rhythmbox to the notification area 2. Drag & Drop a (music) file to the minimized icon Actual results: The "Create Launcher" dialog appears. Expected results: In Rhythmbox the file should be added to the music library, in Amarok a small menu should appear, allowing you to enqueue the file to the playlist. Does this happen every time? yes Other information: Tested on Gnome 2.20.1 in Ubuntu 7.10 and Gnome 2.18 in Ubuntu 7.04
