Description Nick G 2007-12-09 13:08:18 UTC
Similar to the functionality in KDE 3.x, I would like to be able to middle click and drag a shortcut to a network location.
Current behaviour is to simply say that the operation is unavailable but yet I can retry or cancel (because retrying is so fruitful :P)

I discovered this while experimenting with Elisa, my idea was to navigate to the locations such as smb://storage/public/videos and to create a link in ~/Videos via middle-click and drag. I would like to request that this functionality gets implemented and would love to help if it's not too difficult - if nautilus-gio is still getting 'bling' though then maybe this feature could be incorporated? (especially network locations that require a username password could be remounted via accessing the gnome-keyring so I can have a media centre with no interaction).

TL;DR - Middle click linking/shortcuts to network locations (including authentication for extra greatness)
