GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 501454
Hiding the gnome-panel just moves it to another screen (xinerama)
Last modified: 2009-02-26 18:48:15 UTC
Please describe the problem: Im running a 3-head xinerama Desktop under Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon. I have a panel on each screen and i would like to hide them once in a while but instead of sliding into the invisible 10th dimension they just move to the screen next to them. I feel some pride having exposed this deceit but i would rather have a possibility to hide the panels. Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? yes Other information:
Same problem here. Steps to reproduce: 1. Have two screens (set-up in left and right) 2. Put a panel on the left screen 3. Hide it by clicking on the right arrow Observe that it moves to the right screen, over all the windows there. I think the right behaviour would be to have the panel resize itself, instead of moving. Of course, it should be a "soft resizing", a resizing that does not move the objects in the panel.
