GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 500047
Keybindings show busy cursor
Last modified: 2007-11-28 02:12:43 UTC
When I use gconf-editor to assign keyboard shortcuts to run commands, and use these commands there is no indication on whether or not it was successful of went unnoticed (for whatever reason). It would be useful to have it show a busy cursor (similar to clicking a menu/panel icon for the same application), or even just show a "Starting [appname]" task in the taskbar. It is really annoying to press the key sequence, and waiting a minute, only to realize that it is not running. I have started to switch to my always open console on desktop 3, and then run ps to see if the application is running. This is still near impossible to quickly check if you are already running another instance of the same program. Thanks
