GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 495652
Heavy use of processor time for a big photo after some retouching
Last modified: 2008-10-30 20:04:21 UTC
Please describe the problem: I tried to do a miniature like look on a big photo (3872 x 2592). Therefore, I used in Quick Mask mode the gradient tool. After a while, I noticed that the tile rendering after modification was very very slow (and getting slower). The processor usage was very high, even after the rendering was finished, it was above 40% (memory was ok). Everything is ok with the same image in 2.2.13 Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the file where the problem appeared 2. display the saved selection mask copy Actual results: Very slow rendering, very high processor time usage Expected results: Fast rendering, no slowing down Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: Windows Vista 64 Core2Duo 6600 4 GB of RAM
I put the photo with which it's possible to reproduce the bug here: http://www.filefactory.com/file/d9b8a4/
I can't reproduce the problem and I am not sure if I understand this report correctly. What exactly do you mean when you say "display the saved selection mask copy"? Could be a duplicate of bug #479875.
In the channel tab, the image has a saved selection mask. Just display it with "Channel to selection"
OK, it's a duplicate of bug #479875 then. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 479875 ***
