I just ran configure script and it did not complain that I had not gettext developement library installed. Instead 'make' failed in the 'po/' directory.

Other information:
If 'make' fails in the po directory it is likely that gettext is not installed your system. The solution is to install gettext (package 'gettext' in Ubuntu).

Make fails because the variable GMSGFMT is not set.

I guess we can close this one, once the bug belongs to intltool and it has been
fixed last week.
