Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a 10MB text file (ie: log file)
2. Watch the "top" command
3. gedit uses all CPU and you have to kill it.

You can use the same large files in TextPad or EditPad Pro with no problem at all.

Probably this 'bug' is still present in head.

Is there any plan in Sourceview 2.1 to fix this?

With a 23M file , I did the three steps with no problems .
Gedit has charged the file with 6 seconds and no crash .

I have Gnome 2.20.3 with archlinux .
