GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 485640
Local delivery path configuration problem
Last modified: 2007-10-16 00:17:09 UTC
When editing an account to set Receiving Mail to "Local delivery", the Configuration dialog only allows selecting a directory, such as "/var/spool/mail". Individual files inside the directory are grayed out. When doing a Send/Receive, an error is produced saying "Could not open mail file /var/spool/mail: Is a directory". Going back into the preferences for account and manually typing in the name of the actual mbox file produces an error saying "file exists". It is possible to ignore the error and click Ok. At this point everything works as it should. However the error that comes up would lead a user to believe that the setting DIDN'T work at which point the user is likely to just give up and hit Cancel. The dialog SHOULD allow selecting an individual file and not produce an error.
