Description stef 2007-10-02 15:29:38 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I'm using GNOME 2.20 on Foresight Linux 1.4... I like to use my Window List on a 30-pixel-wide panel on the left side of my display, but currently it does not expand vertically past a certain length (looks to be about 300 pixels) when there are too many windows to fit. Instead, it flashes and becomes unusable until I close enough windows for it to fit again.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Add a panel to the left side of the screen and expand it.
2. Set the width of the panel to 30 pixels.
3. Add a Window List on the left side panel.
4. Open windows until the panel extends beyond its restricted vertical capacity.

Actual results:
The Window List constantly flashes between two graphics without enough time between flashes to select a window.

Expected results:
The Window List should continue to expand vertically as each new window is open until it reaches the full length of the panel.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Other information:
If there was a way to adjust the Window List so it only showed the icon for the application (rather than the title bar contents) until a mouse-over, that would probably help. Still, it doesn't fix the problem with it expanding vertically. I would also think this expansion should be able to move from the top downward as well as from the bottom upward.
