Please describe the problem:
PDF's created in indesign using blocks with transparency on them only display and a regular color block in Evince. The same thing seems to work well in Acrobat Reader, but that's not free software :)

I think it's a bug in poppler that has been recently fixed. Could you attach here a pdf file with such transparency blocks?
