GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 476488
Copy & paste isn't working correctly
Last modified: 2007-12-08 11:35:13 UTC
Please describe the problem: If you use the filter in gnome-system-log and copy the result to an editor, you'll see that the copied lines where not those, which you have selected. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open gnome-system-log. 2. Then select a logfile, for example messages. 3. Then filter this logfile by a term, for example "eth0". 4. Now gnome-system-log will show all lines of the log file "messages" which include the term "eth0". 5. Now select all of them by using Shift+Cursor. 6. Then copy them by using the menu edit->copy 7. Now open an editor, like gedit, and paste the copied lines in there. 8. Now you will see, that completly different lines of messsages where copied to gedit. And this is the bug. Actual results: The wrong lines are copied. Expected results: The correct lines should be copied. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: This was tested with gnome-system-log on Ubuntu 7.04.
