GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 47538
No way to move a file currently being viewed into the trash
Last modified: 2005-09-07 22:44:20 UTC
When using nautilus to cleanup files, I tend to view a file, and once seeing it, realize that it's trash. It would be nice to have a "Move current file to trash" menu item There are of course more details to consider, like whether you'd still view the file after it was moved to the trash, whether you'd go back, or what. But it may be worth considering for the reason I explained above. ------- Additional Comments From sullivan@eazel.com 2001-03-09 17:21:35 ---- I'm not convinced this is a good idea, but I'm going to assign it to Arlo and make him think about it. ------- Additional Comments From arlo@workthatmouse.com 2001-04-10 01:19:18 ---- I don't mind the idea at all. If we just keep the move to trash option active, this would be okay. I like th idea of using the the command key for moving to trash on a file I don't want anymore. I wish I could do this ont the platform I typically use. :-) Who now gets to take this bug over? ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 21:10 -------
Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.
I think that this and bug 104670 are related and fall under the heading of "Nautilus' menu's don't allow me preform actions on the currently selected file/folder"
We don't have any view components for documents anymore, and operations on the currently open folder are available through the location button.
