GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 47327
desktop background overwrites "multiple wallpaper" supported by some window managers (e.g. Enlightenment)
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Build ID: gnome-core-1.3.0-0_helix_4, Nautilus 0.8 Platform: Rehat 7.0.91 (Wolverine) Kernel 2.4.1-0.1.9smp There doesn't seem to be a way to use an alternative WM, say, enlightenment, which allows you to have multiple desktops and virtual screens with different wallpapers and let Nautilus control the background, which means you lose the trash bin and Nautilus icons on the desktop. Also there seems to be some inconsistency with what Nautilus draws on the background and what the GTK background is. If you load a GTK background, Nautilus picks it up. If you subsequently disable the background, Nautilus still paints the old image. There should be a second option to have the proper desktop icons and still let a different window manager paint the background. ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2001-03-26 11:19:35 ---- SPAAAAAAAAAM! Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.
well the specific feature requested here is wontfix, however this is close enough to a feature request for multiple backgrounds on different screens that i'm going to mark it a dupe of bug 48004 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 48004 ***
