Description Andrew A. Gill 2007-08-31 20:04:35 UTC
This is more of a bug to my mind than a feature request. It crashed Firefox earlier today. Here's how to reproduce:

Open a text box, and start typing. Now go to the size dialog and right click the up arrow. Surprise! The GIMP is now busy rendering an 8192 px font. There goes ten minutes of work, as the lousy thing slows down the entire system. Also, once the memory usage gets high enough, other programs will start to crash. Like Firefox, for me.

There should be a way to prevent The GIMP from suddenly trying to render an 8192 px font. For me, it's not the first time that I've right clicked that button and had to choose between killing a runaway GIMP and losing an afternoon's work.
