GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 471338
Fails to start with netmonitor if run without dbus
Last modified: 2008-09-07 14:20:47 UTC
[ From http://bugs.debian.org/415600 reported by Jonathan Guthrie ] XChat-GNOME fails to start if the Network Monitor plugin is activated but dbus isn't running; $ xchat-gnome process 31649: arguments to dbus_connection_get_data() were incorrect, assertion "connection != NULL" failed in file dbus-connection.c line 5551. This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library. process 31649: arguments to dbus_connection_set_data() were incorrect, assertion "connection != NULL" failed in file dbus-connection.c line 5515. This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library. ** ERROR **: Not enough memory to set up DBusConnection for use with GLib aborting... It also quietly exits if dbus is restarted when XChat-GNOME is running with the plugin activated. I'm guessing this is related to bug 327929, but I'm forwarding this report just in case.
Please recheck with svn trunk and a recent libdbus and networkmanager; if it still happens please get traces from the crash.
