GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 467521
Persistent splash screen blocks "could not obtain lock" warning
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:46:13 UTC
svn r16410 Do something that causes the data file lock not to be cleared on closing/crashing gnucash relaunch gnucash Splash screen stays stuck displaying "Reading datafile..." indefinitely, instead of displaying the warning about "Could not obtain lock on $datafile" with the buttons for "Open anyway", etc. gnucash --nofile, then File/Open/$datafile works.
I think this behavior is a side effect of rev 16378. gnucash 2.2.0 does not have the problem.
So there is no way to show the warning dialog? Maybe by minimizing, restoring windows or whatever?
The warning dialog does not appear ("blocks" as in "programmatically stalls progression of the loading process such that the warning dialog is not displayed anywhere") The splash screen is displayed in the physical center of the monitor. The warning dialog is drawn tight to the upper left corner of the monitor when it is displayed. For r16410, the warning dialog is not displayed, and the splash screen remains displayed in the center of the screen showing "Loading datafile..." in the bottom line of the splash screen.
trunk @ r16476, 2.2.2. The splash is now disappeared before dialoging with the user. Testing, please.
works for me.
