GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 462645
gconf-2.exe holds open backup .xac files
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:44:44 UTC
Please describe the problem: I was trying the Windows port of Gnucash today (it's great, thank you!!) and I found that the gconf-2.exe process that hangs around after Gnucash quits holds open references to a few of the filename.20070801100000.xac backup files. This prevented them from being moved or deleted (since you can't move or delete files that are open in Windows.) Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
I cannot reproduce this. Are you sure the gconfd-2.exe process holds open references to these files? It should not touch them at all and gnucash-bin.exe should close them as soon as they have been written. May you please give us some steps we can follow to see the problem, ideally starting from scratch, i.e. no running gnucash-bin.exe or gconfd-2.exe processes and a new file in a newly created directory?
I'm absolutely certain it was gconfd-2.exe -- I used Process Explorer to determine which process had the files kept open. I won't have access to the laptop that this happened on for a couple of weeks but I will try to reproduce the problem once I do.
