Description Tom Bass 2007-07-27 10:46:19 UTC
I've created an installer for the current Gnome-Games-On-Windows project. In the installer are a stripped down gtk2+ (only needed files) and guile 1.8 files + the only working game right now Aisleriot.
Please read thorougly the first page of the installer - some important things are mentioned there! :)
This installer is currently in beta status - so if you can, test it first in a virtual machine or something like that.

Ok, due to the upload limit of 1MB to bugzilla I've setup a place where to download the installer:

http://ctb-online.net/gnomegames/gnome-games.exe

Looks good. Can you post the installer sources?

Created attachment 92580 [details]
Sources and needed bins (ico, etc.) and folder structure

included in the zip file are all source files, resources used and folder structure for the installer - i prefer to create small projects for installers as well, so it maybe can go into svn like the one in the zip

I have added the nsis installer sources to SVN:
http://svn.gnome.org/viewcvs/gnome-games/trunk/windows/nsis/

Tom, when you want to update the installer sources, please open a bugreport in bugzilla, and attach a patch to the sources in gnome-games SVN.

Here are some suggestions:
- If possible, use automake to get the current version of gnome-games, and show the current gnome-games version in the text in the installer.

Here's the todo list you described in the readme.txt:
>- make multiple installs (full, selective, ...)
>- different installers (development installer, complete, games-only)
>- check wether gtk2+ is installed or not
>- check wether guile is installed or not
>- additional start menu entries (web links, etc.)
>- update uninstaller to leave no traces on the system (right now install folder >remains)
>- implement correct license file
>- use "modern UI"

These items all sound reasonable to me. You can submit these as patches to SVN.
By the way, what does "use modern UI mean"? A prettier installer? :-)

I have uploaded the latest installer here:

Re-assigning to new default owner.

Things have changed. And the origin link is dead.

I guess Windows binaries for old version of gnome-games would still be useful in some cases. Anybody still have the file?

Closing as no-one has worked on Windows support for some time.
