Description murphyromy 2007-07-27 00:35:57 UTC
I have evolution set up to pop for email and leave message on email server.
But...If I delete message from evolution client; and use web browser (using Firefox 2.0.5) to check this email on server to confirm it is gone (verizon.net...yahoo)...the email is still on the server...
and
If I were to have done the reverse, meaning delete the email via firefox browser; the email on the server via browser is now deleted, but the evolution client appears to still have a local copy...I'm surprised at this. It seems to be a bug.
I would think if I have evolution set up to leave email on the server, and delete a message ther server copy gets deleted, and I don't have a local copy of the email.
It would be nice if evolution has the option to not only keep all email on the email server so that you can access you email from anywhere, but also have the option to not keep a local copy?
By the way; I'm writing this bug for my father who will turn 80years in a week. We have him on ubuntu now and using evolution.
How many 80year olds folks are using linux!!!! ;)

Thanks in advance,
smurphy

if you are using POP, it is normal that the messages are kept on the server. with IMAP, the sync should work.
