Enhancement suggestion:

I would like to have the possibility to suppress only the original picture or only the modified picture from disk/catalog

actually you can delete a version only, but not the original one. the patch attached to other bug allows you to do that.

We should never touch original data (disk is cheap anyway) and if we go to a non-destructive editing model, we'll only keep the originals on disk anyway.
