I installed the GIMP in order to load some raw image data, and found this worked like a charm until I exited the program, whereupon next time I loaded it the "Select file type" extension to the Open dialog would no longer list the file. Deleting the .gimp folder in my user directory would cause it to reappear, and exiting the program reliably causes it to vanish again.

OS: Vista Business, GIMP version: 2.2.17.
