GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 458653
"Post to " Account is not correctly set
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:43:41 UTC
Please describe the problem: When I come to post the newly-added bill, even though the "Post to Account" drop-down is correctly pre-filled, pressing OK pops up a dialog saying "No Account selected. Please try again." Dropping the list down, and clicking on the already-selected account allows successful posting. I have only tried a vendor bill, not (yet) a customer invoice. Confirmed as existing in 2.1.4 & 2.1.5 on mailing list by another user (Vahur Lokk) Steps to reproduce: 1. Try to post a vendor bill 2. 3. Actual results: pre-selected account is regarded as invalid Expected results: bill to be posted to the default account Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: This is a change in behaviour from 2.0.x
Does this happen with Customer Invoices, too? Or does it ONLY happen with A/P?
Confirmed as affecting A/R and A/P.
I am using 2.2.1 and it happens every time I try to post an invoice.

As reported in Bug 504608 there is no prefill more since svn r16773. Could you test svn or release 2.2.3 (r16843)?
Frank - still a problem with 2.2.3 (not from svn though, from the stable release on website). Post Invoice, get an error if you do not select the already selected Accounts Receivable account.

Josh, the change is not included in 2.2.3 but only in trunk, i.e. the development branch eventually leading to GnuCash 2.3.x and 2.4.x. Please retest that one.
Andreas, in comment #8 you mentioned 2.3.x and 2.4.x, did you mean 2.2.3 and 2.2.4? I am running V 2.2.4 and the problem is still there.
No, he did not mean 2.2.3 and 2.2.4. He said (and meant) 2.3.x and 2.4.x. 2.4.x will be the next major release of GnuCash sometime hopefully in 2009.
This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
John, please do not close bugs that you didn't open. We like to keep bugs around until they actually make it into a release branch, either via a backport or test releases. In this particular case Andreas was asking for a report on whether the problem is actually fixed by asking for testing of trunk. Thanks
Derek, thanks for the guidance.
