Description totem 2007-07-14 19:50:03 UTC
Using SUSE 10.0 with SeaMonkey 1.0.9 and Firefox 1.5.x
totem 1.5.91.0 with many plugins...
I was able to play all media streaming or downloaded. :-)

Then I was tricked into "upgrading" Firefox to 2.0
totem does not work any more, sporadically some downloaded files will play, randomly. Unable to re-install, error messages that plug-ins are missing.
No time to research this.
Has anyone else experienced this with Firefox "upgrade"?
gnome-libs 1.4.1.7-690.i586 according to YaST
gstreamer 0.8.11-3.i586

What makes you think this is a GStreamer bug and not a totem bug?

Recent versions of totem (and even 1.5.91, which is not exactly recent AFAIK) use GStreamer-0.10 and not GStreamer-0.8 (which are installable in parallel and need their own set of plugins), so you probably have the 0.8 plugins installed, but not the 0.10 plugins.

Thank you for your answer. When posting a Request or Comment I must choose a ???, "totem" was not an option. I was asked to "guess". Good guess: I should update gstreamer to be compatible with totem 1.5.91 We are aware that totem 1.5.91 is not the latest stable version, neither is SUSE 10.0, but we can maintain it. Will never have time to learn a new version of SUSE. Error logs too voluminous to copy here, I don't understand them anyway. No time.

Can't really do much about this bug without further information.

If you still have problems, please ask in SUSE support forums, they can probably help you best, thanks!
