Description Murray Cumming 2007-07-07 15:15:58 UTC
I see no way for me to edit this page, even when logged in:
https://edit.gnome.jardigrec.eu/en/

If this needs some special editing method then that should be documented somewhere, ideally on live.gnome.org.
Comment 1 Ricky Zhou 2007-07-07 18:21:43 UTC
I found this after a little searching/URL editing: https://edit.gnome.jardigrec.eu/en/index_html/edit

Is this the correct URL for what you were looking for?
Comment 2 Quim Gil 2007-07-07 21:46:58 UTC
The content of the homepage is made from many different pieces. How to tweak each piece needs to be documented, yes. I'll ask Ramon.
Comment 3 Ricky Zhou 2007-07-29 20:46:22 UTC
There's also some CSS in the HTML of the front page, which is related to bugs #454555 and #454668. The tables in the RSS feed headers might also be replaced with different markup. Is the current front page template related to the somewhat empty MainPage product in SVN?

(Reassigning to Ramon, as discussed in IRC).

Ramon, can you summarize the instructions to edit the homepage elements at
http://live.gnome.org/GnomeWeb/ContributorsHowTo ("Editing the homepage")

Thank you

We have some progress: http://live.gnome.org/GnomeWeb/ContributorsHowTo#head-11ff53b583c0315c76cefa66458a8d9918386758

There are still open issues / unclear steps:

- How to upload a new image and convert it in the new splash or banner.
- How to manage the Events
- About the footer, as far as I see https://edit.gnome.jardigrec.eu/portal_skins/custom/footer/manage_main has different content that the footer actually seen at http://gnome.jardigrec.eu/en/

There is a confusion between the GNOME block and the banner in the right column, but I will open a new bug about this. Also the Featured Product goes out since we don't have GNOME Products yet, this will be another separate bug.
Comment 7 ramon.nb 2007-07-30 10:24:53 UTC
In order to show the events I need to know where to get them ( we talked about that on the IRC ) . You need to check changes at https://edit.gnome.jardigrec.eu as the http://gnome.jardigrec.eu has an strict cache.
Comment 8 Quim Gil 2007-07-30 10:52:49 UTC
How to edit the frontpage is now documented at http://live.gnome.org/GnomeWeb/ContributorsHowTo#head-11ff53b583c0315c76cefa66458a8d9918386758

There are still some little details missing and they are identified as FIXME in the wiki page. We can proceed with the introduction of real content there.

Murray, resolv the bug as fixed if you think this is enough.
Comment 9 Quim Gil 2007-07-31 09:07:23 UTC
The little details have been fixed. We only miss recommended sizes for splash and banner but they are being requested already in separate bug, and Ricky + Andreas are working on that.

Closing this bug.
