Description Asbjørn Clemmensen 2007-06-25 10:18:09 UTC
Please describe the problem:
In Epiphany, when downloading a file and clicking "Save" the Nautilus file-chooser box comes up. When I click one of the folder-links in the side-bar to go to my home folder, for example, I see the pre-filled filename (the name of the file I was downloading) change first to the name of the first file in the current folder, then turn empty.
This way, one has to remember to Ctrl+C the filename before clicking the home folder icon, as the filename will be reset, then Ctrl+V afterwards to get it back again. This is the workaround, but not a very nifty one.

Steps to reproduce:
1. In Epiphany, find a file to download.
2. In the dialog, click "Save"
3. Click on any folder icon in the left side-bar, that isn't the current directory.

Actual results:
The pre-defined filename is first changed to the name of the first file in the current folder, then immediately reset to the empty string.

Expected results:
The filename shouldn't change. It should remain the same and not get reset.

Does this happen every time?
Yes. Without fail.

Let me add that I'm not that well-known in the structure of Gnome, so I don't know if this actually belongs under "Nautilus", or if the file-chooser dialog actually resides in a shared library somewhere else. Please accept my apologies if I placed this in the wrong place.

Correction (and sorry about the noise), but I just found out that it doesn't happen *every* time, but very close. I can't seem to figure out under what circumstances it occurs, but the problem is the same: The filename changes to the name of the first in the current folder, then it's emptied.

Yes, this bug belongs to product "gtk+", component "GtkFileChooser".
