What were you doing when the application crashed?
I was opening an image. in the background the file manager was busy opening the photos as thumbnails. In the directory were aprox. 600 pictures.

This is a duplicate of bug 425094, which has probably been fixed in 2.10.3. Please re-open bug 425094 if the problem persists with 2.10.3.
