GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 442074
Navigation bar for photo view
Last modified: 2007-07-16 09:44:14 UTC
In the photo view, the date bar is not of much use. It just allows to jump month-wise, with no real indication what photos are found in a given month. In the browse mode, this is no problem because you instantly see a large number of photos. Additionally, what's missing in the photo view is the possibility to see a few photos back or ahead of the current, to help navigation. So, what I would like to see is a new kind of preview/navigation bar in the photo view. Similar to what currently is in the f-spot view sidebar.
Created attachment 89006 [details] Mockup This is how it could look like. The space where we currently have the time bar would be replaced by this bar, which holds thumbnails of the current image, as well as some images before, and some after it. The current image thumbnail is always in the middle and has the slider thing around it. When you move the slider to the left, the stripe of thumbnails starts scrolling to the right. Moving it just a little results in slow scrolling, moving it very far to either side results in fast scrolling. The ends of the bar fade into gray to show "open ended".
Hi Michael, I already started implemented this, and attached my work to bug #325850. Please refer to that one for further discussions. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 325850 ***
