Everything works till I try to save as. Then I get

Pango-WARNING (recursed)**: Couldn't load font "MS Shell Dlg 8" falling back to "Sans 8" aborting

I press okay an I get

Runtime Error
Program: C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\bin\gimp-2.2.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I press okay and the whole program shuts down.

I think you have two options:
- don't use the ms-windows GTK+ theme
- change your default system font from MS Shell Dlg to something else
