Description Michael Ekstrand 2007-05-16 18:50:54 UTC
Currently (3.2.0), when cutting and pasting widget trees, the names of the objects are changed upon paste, even when it is the first paste.

If Glade preserved the names for the first paste of a cut object, and then changed them for future pastes of that object (and changed them for any paste of a copied object), it would make the cut/paste operation significantly more usable. In this vein, an "undo" of the first paste should clear the flag so that a subsequent paste still doesn't change names.

Cut followed by a single paste is common, at least in my work flow, for making various UI adjustments. In the case today, I was trying to get rid of the frame and alignment around a few widgets, moving them up to a higher-level container. Similar use cases would include moving UI to a different tab.
