Description Lynn Monsanto 2007-05-03 17:00:08 UTC
Orca does not speak the contents of the Location text field in the Java ControlPanel "Temporary Files Settings" page. This is a non-editable text field, but it appears to get focus. It takes two tab hits to move keyboard focus from the "Key temporary files on my computer" checkbox to the Change button. If the text field did not get focus, it should only take on tab hit.
Comment 1 Lynn Monsanto 2007-05-08 17:09:48 UTC
This is a general problem with the LABEL_FOR relation not being set for any of labels that are adjacent to text fields in the Java Control Panel.

Submitted an internal Sun bug report for the Java Control Panel.

*Synopsis*: Java Control Panel accessibility problem with labels and text fields

Removing target milestone from [blocked] bugs. We have little control over them, so we're better off letting priority and severity be our guide for poking the related components.
Comment 3 Willie Walker 2007-11-01 18:02:42 UTC
Just an fyi that this control panel can be run via the 'jcontrol' command on Solaris. This is indeed a label by/for problem.
Comment 4 Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2010-04-02 16:11:23 UTC
Ke, I cannot see the internal bug mentioned in comment 1. In addition, at the moment, jcontrol no longer works for me in OpenSolaris when AT support is enabled. Therefore, when you have the opportunity, would you mind taking a look at this?

Thanks!
Comment 5 Ke Wang 2010-04-06 10:07:42 UTC
I'll take a look
Comment 6 Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2010-04-23 01:40:12 UTC
Thanks Ke! I hope you don't mind my assigning this one to you. That way I stop coming back to it to work on. :-)
Comment 7 Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2010-07-04 19:42:42 UTC
Ke, any update on this one? Thanks!

[Mass-resetting default assignee, see bug 705890. Please reclaim this bug report by setting the assignee to yourself if you still plan to work on this. Thanks!]
Comment 9 Magdalen Berns (irc magpie) 2014-11-08 19:34:52 UTC
Closing this because it refers to a really old version.

Feel free to open a new bug if the problem is still a problem.

[Moving at-spi/javva-atk-wrapper bugs to separate product. See bug 740075]
