Description Alan Baghumian 2007-05-02 06:46:28 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Sound events does not work after login. Login welcome sound plays but after login, there is no event sound. Sound events option is enabled and GNOME can playe test event sounds on the sound settings window. I even tried to build control-center package in disabled gstreamer-0.10 and esd mode or in pure alsa mode, bot none helped and problem still persists.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to system->pref-sound
2. Enable sound events
3. logout then login, login sound plays and there are no event sounds anymore

Actual results:

Expected results:
Event sounds should be played normally.

Does this happen every time?
yes

Other information:
I use debian/unstable branch.

running /usr/bin/esd before logging-in to GNOME will solve the problem
