Description Frank H. Ellenberger 2007-04-28 07:37:33 UTC
Please describe the problem:
It happened here: http://lists.gnucash.org/logs/2007-04-28.html#T02:49:12

In the Post Invoice dialog, "account to post" shows "Assets", the pulldown menu is empty and manually entered text seems not to be accepted.
After pressing OK, I get "No Account selected. Please try again."

After aborting the dialog and closing the invoice, the reopened invoice is marked as invoiced.

Steps to reproduce:
1. create a common account hierarchy
2. create accounts assets:openinvoices, liabilities:VAT, income: businessincome
3. create taxtable VAT_full linked to liabilities:VAT, a client and an invoice
4. enter some data with account=businessincome, taxtable=VAT_full,taxable=X, to get a positive amount and try to post

Does this happen every time?

Other information:
Important: tax table editor must not accept placeholder accounts! It does and is so possible the source for another bug.

Is this bug still around?

Similar invoice posting bugs that may be duplicates: bug #443971, bug #458653. If appropriate, please mark this as a duplicate.

Also, please don't conflate bugs -- the tax table editor accepting placeholder accounts should be a separate bug. That is by no means an endorsement of whether that is *actually* a bug or not, merely pointing out that it should be noted separately.
Comment 2 Frank H. Ellenberger 2007-12-20 07:08:29 UTC
This happened in svn16002. I can not really reproduce it, going back to 2.2.1-r16462.

According to http://lists.gnucash.org/logs/2007/12/2007-12-19.html#T23:38:19
I close this bug as user error and open a new one as enhancement request under bug 504608.
