GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 433725
Allow drag’n’drop
Last modified: 2020-11-07 12:26:46 UTC
[ Forwarded from http://bugs.debian.org/421163 ] "gucharmap allows the dragging of characters to other applications. It would be handy if charpick_applet2 would allow this as well – it would be a bit faster and not remove the contents of the copy’n’paste buffer."
I also think the current "copy to clipboard" behavior is a bit cumbersome (frankly, I had to read the manual to figure this out). But rather than drag and drop, wouldn't it be nice if clicking a character button automatically inserts a character where the cursor currently flickers, just like the Turkish Dictionary in the following page? (Javascript must be turned on.) http://www.turkishdictionary.net/ I think at least we should have this option, if not the default behavior. And no, I don't have a 3 button mouse (As far as I know the mojority of people don't). - Satoshi
bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old feature requests in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years. If you still use gnome-applets and if you are still requesting this feature in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-applets/-/issues/ Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be implemented.
