Dialog "tax related": Could we make columns resizeable and/or at least spent at least account column h. scrollbar? I know very well, german tax and accounting principles are terrible for everyone :/ As you can see later in the picture, there are very long names like "Steuerpflichtige Umsätze im Sinne des § 13b Abs. 1 Satz 1 Nr 1 bis 5 UStG, für die der Leistungsempfänger die Steuer schuldet". (This is not the longest in the paper) Some can easy abbreviated, some are more difficult, because there are small, but important differences like the tax rate at the end of the sentence or the §§. So, if one could change the ratio between the 2 columns, and maybe having horizontal scrollbars, if the strings are longer, would be a nice thing
Created attachment 86758 [details] fullsized tax related dialog
Fixed in r15981. Originally, I wanted to replace the tabular design by a GtkHPaned (A container with two panes arranged horizontally), but the current state is OK for me. HIGifiers may think differently :-)
First, I wish to express, the "Business->Tax Table Editor" now looks very fine. May be I was not clear enough, but I wished an improvement of "Edit->Tax Options". It seems, retranslation sometimes does not work. On the other hand, may be, we should think about "information hiding in the GUI" (related things in different menus) ... N.B. My next request in the project is #432143
We were talking about different things (read: my mistake), but I hacked on the right dialog nonetheless :-) So r16064 implements the change I mentioned in comment 2, appearing in GnuCash 2.1.2. Adding a scrollbar to the accounts tree view seems to be non-trivial---I have tried it once in the account dialog, but did not succeed.
