GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 431301
Evolution should give feedback when messages are sent
Last modified: 2012-02-17 19:54:33 UTC
The bug has been opened on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/84065 "Binary package hint: evolution When I send e-mail (especially with the nautilus-sendto plugin, but also in general in evolution) there is no feedback when it is "really" sent, i.e. when transfer is completed. Last week I made a mess at office for this reason - I closed evolution, went offline, I am not sure at all, but I found my message still in outbox and I thought to have sent it. If some visual feedback e.g. a small progressbar in the statusbar, could be shown after clicking on "send" this would help. This feedback should be given in a separate window if the main window does not exist, e.g. after "send to" in nautilus. ..."
I just look at the Outbox folder - if it looks like: Outbox (1) then I know it has messages in queue to send still, but if it looks like: Outbox then I know all my messages have been sent. If I really care to see the progress, I can just click Send&Receive
The bug submitter uses nautilus-sendto which calls "evolution mailto:email" so he doesn't get any shell window open and no outbox not send or receive to use
The sending progress is displayed in version 3.2.3 in the composer window on top of the message body. Closing as FIXED.
